Phil Pendry is an award-winning cinematographer and director based in Toronto, Ontario. Although born in England he has long been a resident of Canada and has shot documentaries, television series, short films, music videos, commercials and high-end corporate communications projects. As a documentary cameraman he has covered 30 conflicts in the Middle East, Africa and Vietnam. The Canadian Society of Cinematographers named him Television News Cameraman of the Year in 1971. He has also been recognized with awards from the National Press Photographers Association and the American Federation of the Arts. His documentary, Little Mountain, screened at the Native American Film Festival and was given a Media Access Award in 1994. He received a Gemini Award in 1998 for his work on the series Moving On and in 2007 he was given a Videographer Award for his work on a project for Toronto Public Health titled Toward a Healthy City. Film No.4 is better known as “bottoms” or “bums” and was produced by Yoko Ono. These are his credits as a director.
